Grupo Capoeira Brasil has its roots from Grupo Senzala and was founded
on January 14th, 1989 in Rio de Janeiro by Mestres Paulinho Sabiá (Niteroi

Brasil’s inauguration was sponsored by legendary masters of

Itapoan, Peixinho, and Eziquiel.
Grupo Capoeira Brasil has not only grown nationally, with academies all over Brasil, but also internationally.
We have many academies with great Masters, Teachers and Instructors in many continents like
South America, Central America, North America, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia and Asia.
Grupo Capoeira Brasil is recognized as one of the largest Capoeira group in the world and well
respected amongst other famous groups and Grand Masters of Capoeira.
Mestres Boneco (Rio/Los Angeles), Paulinho Sabiá (Niteroi/Paris) and Paulão (Ceara/Amsterdam) compliment Grupo Capoeira Brasil in their own unique ways with numerous
graduated students. While there are many important masters in Grupo
Capoeira Brasil, these four masters are essential to the cultivation
and evolution of the group’s work. |
