Mathuzalem de Melo Jr. aka Tuzinho began to practice Capoeira over a decade in Brazil where he was born and raised. During these years Tuzinho has trained and taught under the guidance of known world wide Capoeira masters. As of now Tuzinho is part of Grupo Capoeira Brasil under Mestre Boneco where he continues on his journey of learning more Capoeira traditions and techquinies along with contribution to spread Capoeira to the community.

Tuzinho has participated, lectured, performed and introduced Capoeira to various venues, universities throughout USA and along neighborhoods in Ohio and New York, where he was able to work with kids and adults. With his ability to train, coach and guide, students of all ages he has been instrumental in helping many of them to overcome many obstacles, which have helped them to become more confident in themselves and more positive in their lives and with the people around them and mainly become successful Capoeristas.

As Tuzinho continues to study and practice the art of Capoeira he is always learning. He believes he has identified and learned to apply the values essential to one’s quest to becoming a strong and successful Capoeirista: He believes in training consistently and with passion, in remaining humble at all times and respecting the masters of Capoeira, and strongly urges that students learn the art of Capoeira under their guidance and through the journeys these masters have taken.
