The Capoeira Brasil[nyc], Instrutora Coruja & Instrutor Tuzinho branch has been holding classes for approximately 6 years. We are still a relatively small class but we are part of a larger group of Grupo Capoeira Brasil members who practice Capoeira throughout the world. Our classes are based in Manhattan and are held 4 times a week including weekends. Both of our instructors have been practicing Capoeira for over a decade and they are known and respected in the Capoeira community. They have helped the group to build a strong presence in New York City, performing and teaching for many non-profit organizations, universities and TV Networks.

Aside from our regular classes for adults, Capoeira Brasil[nyc] has partnered with others non-profit organizations throughout metro area high schools and junior high schools to establish programs targeting the city's youth. These projects are devoted to spreading the art of Capoeira in neighborhoods that lack the necessary resources to expose youth to the arts and also to fighting against drugs, lack of discipline and obesity.

In our class, you will find many different people: men, women, children, and mothers, and many different people of all cultural backgrounds. Capoeira Brasil[nyc] believes that Capoeira is for everyone! Our main objective is to give everybody the opportunity to learn Capoeira, without discrimination against of race, sex, or social class.
